Arroiws for a Firebird
I was wondering if anybody could give me some insight to what POC arrows have worked best in a Firebird?
I just had Chad get one built for a buddy of mine for X-mas And I am ordering one in the next couple of days with the cash I get back from returning all the usless gifts( If you know what I am saying). :D He is shooting 57#at 28 I will be around the same maybe a bit lower 50-54 Thanks for your help with this. RE: Arroiws for a Firebird
I don't shoot a Firebird, but the fact that it's a recurve would suggest 60-65# spine for your buddy, 55-60# spine for yourself. Go up another 5# in spine if you want to shoot a heavier arrow. Unless of course the belly limb configuration on the Firebird (like a BW) would make a difference? Interested to see replies from those that are shooting this bow.

RE: Arroiws for a Firebird
You might have to go a little higher in spine than normal. But my guesstimate is based on my pre-Firebird model (basically a 60" firebird) that seems to shoot best for me with around a 95# spine. That's using a 32" arrow with a ~55# @ 30" draw and a dyna 97 string. The upside is that these models seem to tolerate a whole range of brace heights so you should be able to tailor something.
Your mileage may vary... :) RC |
