Arrows anyone?
As much as I love hunting, I always look forward to after the season. I usually start making my wooden arrows after deer season ends, and this year is of no exception. I spent a couple hours working on my shop today, general cleaning and dusting. I pulled all my shafts (1000+) down from the attic and sorted the bundles by spine. While hunting, I usually spend some of my free time about new colors, patterns and shafting materials. I usually try a new crown pattern or two, but haven't decided what new colors I would like to try yet. One of my primary goals this season is to finish a couple sets of footed arrows. Do any of you use the after season time and beat cabin fever by doing things like this?
Also, I would like to try out a Nifty Nocker this year. Does anyone have any experience with this tool? Any pros and cons would be greatly appreciated. Take care and happy holidays all................Tom |
RE: Arrows anyone?
Also, when do I get rid of this silly fawn rating? I feel as though I am a little big to be a fawn. Take care.............Tom

RE: Arrows anyone?
The fawn, et cetera, ratings are evidently based on how many total posts you have so to get rid of it, post more.

RE: Arrows anyone?
I'll be building a dozen arrows sometime this winter, so Im ready when the snow leaves. Other than that, I am going to attempt to build a bow. We'll see how that goes.

RE: Arrows anyone?
Tom, a 1000+ shafts is way too many for one man to worry about. Just make a few up and send them my way. 50-55 would be the preferred choice. John

RE: Arrows anyone?
Sorry John, I have more 50-55 then any other group (maybe 200 shafts). But most of my bows prefer that spine. Take care...........Tom
