Are these the new extra heavy ones? Been waiting for them to hit the market.....although I think I have found a source for wood arrows that will work on my water buffalo hunt, I'm going to try out different ones and use what I feel works the best.

Chad,

They look like wood. Mine are 30", 3 - 5" shield cut feathers, crested, screw in point insert (no point installed) and weigh 432 grains. Standard ones without cresting weigh 363 grains. To get the right spine I'll be shooting these with 200 grain broadheads. That'll be about a 632 grain arrow.

Looks like the only difference with these is the wood look coating.

How do I post a pic????????

Well shoot--that's not the ones I was hoping for. Have heard AD is working on a new big game shaft that is super heavy. Talked with a guy in the archery dept. at Bass Pro Shops the day after Thanksgiving, he'd heard about them too but wasn't sure when they would be available. Oh well........I don't even have the bow yet but I'm anxious to find some arrows that will work.

Below the message window there's a section called File.
Put a check mark in the 'Embed picture in post'
Then click on 'Click here to upload'
Click the browse button to find the pic you have saved on your hard drive.
Careful though, it only allows a max. file size of 30kb
and must be either gif or jpg format. [:'(]

This thread reminded me of some arrows I have started. With all these manufacturers trying to make aluminum and carbon look like wood (why, I have no idea), I got the idea to make some wooden arrows that look like metal (chrome paint). Think the next ones will be solid black (faux carbon).[8D]

Why do we have camo arrows or black, blue or what ever color? Becouse we like them. I like my carbon wood arrows(they look cool) and a lot better than wood. But then every arrow is beter than a wood arrow. JMO

Deadeyes,

That might be true, unless you are trying to compete in a 3-D shoot in the longbow division. Woodies only!!
