Climbing stands w/ Trational Bow?
I was courious as to what kind of stands you guys use with your long trational bow. I don' t have any trouble shooting my recurve from my lock-ons but have a hard time shooting from my climbing stands due to arm rest are seats being in the way. Do any of you use climbing stands with your trational bows?

Does Lone Wolf make one for us full-figured guys? Weight rating of at least 300#, preferably 350 or more.
I' ve currently got a Summit Goliath, and have shot from other stands that have a rail. It' s a pain, but doable--you just have to practice from the stand, and watch what you are doing. I had a Summit Revolution for a short time--it was perfect for bowhunting, and super comfortable--but the weight rating was too low for me (they mean it on that one--it ain' t made for 300+ lbs). A bit of a bugger to learn to climb with, but after a couple times it' s not a big deal. Chad |

RE: Climbing stands w/ Trational Bow?
I have shot my longbows and recurves out of several stands. I have hunted out of a Tree Lounge for years without any problems. I just bought the Summit Python, and plan on taking the foot/shooting rest off of it for archery hunting. It should be the same as the Cobra for the most part. I also used a Cougar Claw in the past and plan on rigging up the same sort of idea they had with this open front climber. I will be taking a wide nylon cargo strap and securing it as a seat for a stand up/sit down type climber. Take care...........Tom
PS. I plan on looking at the Ol' Man stands this weekend when Chad comes up to stick another of our Tennessee deer. We are heading to the Bass Pro Shop after Thanksgiving Day sale. |
