Great story and congratulations on a fine animal. Nothing quite like the feeling of that first one.

Dangit, I' m keeping my hat! I' ve always been accused of being a bit different anyhow......

Dan (Lilhunter), my Crusader earned her name a few years ago. I' d had an awful round with target panic--the first time I had ever really experienced it. I was at the Lofton Classic shooting some targets around camp and it broke--I was dead on like nothing had ever happened. That is when Stella got her name--she got her groove back!

I' m going to mount the antlers on a plaque, along with the arrow, and maybe make a bow rack with the hooves via JRW' s article. Also plan on getting the hide tanned--will make a nice cover for my table when I set up at a shoot.

dkbs, I' m just hard-headed--lol. Hopefully the next one won' t take so long.

Thanks to you all for the congrats--I haven' t posted my story anywhere else, and probably won' t. I do read a few other boards, but this one is special to me. Stay tuned for the next one!

Chad

Congrats. Don' t feel bad I' ve only shot 1 deer a doe with a bow in 10+ years and that was with one of those communist compounds Haven' t even seen a deer to draw my longbow back. Got me 2 bears and a crazy sheep.

One thing, you' re not going to wear that hat if Troy and I go shooting with you[>:] are you????

Deer probably figured anything wearing a hat like that can' t be dangerous
