I can kill 3-D targets at 30 yards all day long... But as soon as you put trees and a live target in front of me that range gets cut in half!!!

I've killed 6 deer with my trad bow and all of them have been under 20 yards...

I'm shootin a Black Widow PSAX 42#@28" 2117 legacy arrows Magnus 125 buzz cuts

My 1st 20 years (I started in 1956) was b/4 compounds. Made the switch to compound in mid 70s. 2014 rekindled my interest in Longbow. I'll be toting both to my stand this fall at the start of my 61st year in the sport.

Default Selfbows for me

I will be hunting with several self bows I made this year.
The first is an Osage, with sleeve take down, timber rattlesnake, 56" , 60#@28".
The second is an Osage, with Copper Head skins, 58", 54#@28.
I'm using river cane and dogwood shafts with stone points this year.

My 1st 20 years was b/4 compounds so did plenty traditional (38 animals). Switched to Compound in 70s when compounds took over & now since 2014 use 50# Longbow & Compound (It's all archery). Will be taking both to the woods this year. Aluminum arrows for the compound & Woodies for the Longbow.

Not me. I wont be able to until I have surgery on my hand. And then after that, it is questionable.

Hope you can get the hand fixed and back to shooting burnie. I didn't spend much time shooting the recurve this year. Too much other stuff going on.
