I'm sick over my Bear Grizzly
I Yesterday I was going over to see if I needed to refinish my mid 70's Bear Grizzly and found a hair line crack in the riser from under the shelf and goes all the way through the limb.... YUCK..
I don't know how long it's been that way, but now that I know it's there, I will never be comfortable shooting it. I could send it to Bear, but maybe it's time to just put it out to pasture, it lasted a long time. Bear has a lifetime warranty on the risers, but the paper work was never sent in. Awww :( |
A while back,i dealt a lot with Bear/ Jennings and they with very helpful. Just try getting ahold of them and act really heart broken! See what happens and let us know?

Bummer...but like you said, it's done it's job for a long time.

Yes I have more; I'll probably put it on the wall next to my first compound a Bear Whitetail hunter that I have enshrined in a shadow box..
I have a lot of other bows, but that was like getting rid of your favorite jeans that just can't go that extra mile without getting arrested.:violin: I'm starting to live by the phrase; It is what it is! :) I'm still overly blessed. This is a picture of my last hunt with my Griz http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/memb...94533733-n.jpg |
That sucks.

Cool! I recently traded for a few old bows. Still a few bargains out there. I'd all but quit trading when the market went nuts.

I shot my first deer, an 8 pointer with a 40# Grizzly. The good old days long before compounds. And if I remember correctly I used those heavy fiberglass arrows and a Bear Razorhead broadhead. I do remember that that buck ran all the way to the bottom of the mtn before he gave up the ghost. And of course I was parked all the way on top!!!
