Back as well

Well, rolled in today, back from 9 days of chasing moose in the BC interior. For the first time in 7 years no moose meat for the winter. :(

A little lighter, a lot dirtier :D, laughed lots, almost got eaten by a bear, and shared a camp with good guys I don' t see very often. So over all a successful trip.

Like Kip, weather beat us up pretty good. Only here it was too nice- 65-70 by day and low 20' s at night. Not a drop of rain, clouds, or snow. This made the rotten beasts vanish into the really thick nether regions as the sun peeped over the horizon and they wouldn' t come out to play until an hour before dark. Only managed to have one lengthy conversation with a bull but couldn' t convince him to step out and come home for dinner.

If any pic' s turn out I' ll post a couple.

Bummer Tuff! That' s what happened to us last year in Northern Ontario--tracks everywhere, but the traffic was at night. Before I hunted them, I thought it would be easy to follow a moose trail on into the woods--when I got there, I saw that they step over everything instead of beating it down like deer do (but the deer are short, and only leave a little tunnel here). Any chance you will get to try again, or is it over for this year?

Btw, glad you made it back safe and sound!

Bummer you didnt get your moose Tuff. Sounds like the weather is giving everyones hunting a hard time right now. Sounds like you had a good hunt none the less.

Chad, how would you have ever seen a moose trail when your head was buried in the blueberry bushes all week? :D[&:]:D[&:]:D[&:]

lbr,
Nope, that was my one big trip for this year. A ferry crossing and a 15 hour drive makes it a little impractical to get back for more. :) Should have taken a bear tag with me, had a stand off with one at 10 feet. Definitely added a little excitement into my evening.
