broken or shatterd?
 

I don't know about anyone else , but I think 200fps is the sound barrier for a traditional bow. I just bought a Samick Sage 60 pound bow. It conographed at 221fps. Did it break or shatter the sound barrier? These bows are put together well, at 60 pounds it is a smooth draw and no stacking, for the price YOU CAN'T BEAT THEM.

The Sage is a dandly little bow, as is it's cousin the 64" Journey (that one goes better with my draw length).

221 is fast for a recurve, but I'd be concerned about breaking the bow as much as the sound barrier. Takes a light arrow to get that kind of speed from a recurve. A friend of mine got 230-something from his once, but only once. VERY light arrow--was afraid the bow would break if he shot it like that many times.

I checked withe manufacture, they said it is no problem. The arrow is 367 grains. I shoot the same arrow out of my 55 pound grizzzly. I have put a few thousand through that bow and no problems

Just 6 grains per lb? I'm surprised--may I asked who you spoke with? Samick is in Korea.

I just talked to Lancaster and they recommended 9 gpp, but the guy I was talking with didn't specify if it was mentioned in the warranty.

I had the place I bought it call Korea, that is what they supposedly said. I can't even find a place for the waranty or to registar the bow.

Decades ago I shot recurve and never considered such a light weight to pounds ratio as that. My old set up would do "only" about 160-165 and the good Lord only knows how many deer I felled with it. I'd guesstimate 60-80. It is amazing what these newer designs can do. Just wish my old self could still manage to draw back a nice stick.

I know what you mean, I used to shot a 55 pound howat hunter for as long as I wanted, but I wasn't 64 years old then. I have a strange way of shooting, I don't get to my anchor and let go, I hold untill all feels comfotable. I am hoping to build up to holding this one with ease. This getting old is not fun.
