Default Invitation(Traditional) Historical Archery European Championships 2013 Gyula, Hungary


As Chairman of the Organising Committee and on behalf of the HDH-IAA, I am pleased to invite you to the HDH-IAA Historical European Championships 2013.
The Competition will take place 17th–20th of April 2013 and will be shot according to the HDH-IAA rules and regulations.

Categories:
5.1.2. Hungarian and other nomadic bows
- All kinds of rigid-tipped recurve bows.
- There is no restriction for the length of the tip.
- Grip shall be symmetric in horizontal directions, no arrow rest is permitted.
- Arrow has to run out on the holding hand.

5.1.3. Historical Longbow
- A one piece straight ended bow constructed of any material which when strung displays one continued unidirectional curve, which is measured as follows: when the strung bow is placed with the bowstring in a vertical position, the angle as measured between the tangent of any point on the limb and an imaginary horizontal line must always decrease as this point is moved further away from the bow grip. (Continually decreasing limb-string distance.)
- In case of any doubt as to the continuing curve of the limb then a string-line laid from the end of the riser fade out to the commencement of the tip overlays (or if there are no overlays then the point at which the bow string is held in the nock groove) on the back of the strung bow shall show no gaps between the string line and the bow limb.
- The tip reinforcing may not exceed 20mm in height, measured from the surface of the back of the bow limb and may not exceed 50mm in length, measured from the centre of the string groove towards the bow grip.

5.1.4. Modern longbow
- The bow may contain a window and an arrow shelf. The side of the window shall be slanted over the full length of the window and rounded off at the point where the window intersects with the top bow limb.
- The window cut may not exceed the centre of the bow.

5.1.5. Bow constructed of natural materials only
- Shall meet all the requirements of either the Hungarian or other nomadic bow division (5.1.2) or Historical longbow division (5.1.3).
- The bow shall be constructed of natural materials only.
- In case of a laminated bow only natural based gluing will be approved.
- For a laminated bow the producer’s original certificate will be needed to justify that the bow was constructed of natural materials only.
- In case of a bow carved from one piece of wood no certification will be needed.

5.2. Arrows
- Arrows shall be of wood or bamboo, fletched with natural feathers only.
- Nock cut in the end of the shaft is only allowed if ensured with appropriate materials.
- Nocks may be of plastic.
- The owner’s name shall be indicated at the feather.
- Turnered metal arrow heads may only be used in order to prevent causing surplus damage in the butt.
- The arrow shall be free of any signs, marks that can be used for aiming.

TR-RB (traditional recurve )category

it can be used any type of traditional recurve bow - no metal handle. No release aid, no sighting device, no stabilizers, no added weight. It must be shot with glove, finger tab or bare fingers. While shooting, the archer must touch the arrow with the index finger against the nock (no “string walking”). There will not be any type of draw check on the bow or string. No marks are allowed in the sight window on string, on the bow that could be used to judge distance, or as an aiming reference. Arrowrest like T300, Neet, Hoyt Hunter, Bear ore simular can be used.
Any kind of arrows are allowed. The arrows must be of the same materials and uniform length
