Vic,

That is the limit on The GMA On private land in the Lowcountry of SC, there is NO LIMIT from Aug 15th to Jan 1st of deer season. Unfortunately, I don' t own any private land and the lease rates in clubs start around $800/year. I figure I have a pretty good start on an elk or caribou hunt at that rate!!

RE: Counting Coup

Vic,

I got the Stewart bow at lunchtime yesterday. I only time to unpack it, assemble it, shoot a dozen or so shots, disassemble and stow it in the new T/D case I bought for it.

It is very quick, super quiet, and I was quite surprised about how easy it was on the fingers for a 56" bow. I shot over half of the shots without a glove and they didn' t bother the callous that has formed on the ring finger of my shooting hand at all. I do believe it is a keeper.

RE: Counting Coup

Vic,

I got to shoot the bow in The Archery Shop today. Shooting 50#@27" , my drawlength, and a 486 grain arrow we chronoed it at 183 fps. That' s not bad for a 50@ bow shooting an arrow that' s 9.7 gr/pdf!

It is dead-on accurate for me out to 15 yards with only a couple hours of practice. I' ve got some work to do yet beyond that distance. I think the speed and the geometry of the shorter bow will take some adjusting to in order for me to extend my comfort zone to 20 yards. That' s where I would like it to be when we go to WV in November for our annual week of deerhunting.
