Backwards, As Usual

I got to thinking the other day (yeah, it hurt a little) and came up with something different--to me anyway. I keep seeing aluminum and carbon arrows all dressed up to look like wood, and I just don' t get it. I mean, these are superior materials, right? So why try to dress them up to look like the inferior material? Anyway......

I decided I' d do just the opposite. Went out and bought me some " chrome" spray paint, and capped some wood arrows with it. Haven' t finished them yet, but got the chrome cap dip on. May do a dozen solid chrome (or gold) if these turn out. Think I' ll put turkey feathers on them though, to keep them " traditional" .;)

When I get done with these, I may paint another dozen jet black and write " Gold Top" or " Booman" on them[&o].

Whatever floats your boat, or trips your trigger, they' ll still break easier, then smell better than the carbons.

Reminds me of some arrows I made for a primitive shoot. I was shooting a little short draw white oak bow and made some bamboo arrows to go with it. In a fit of lunacy I painted the arrows black from one end to the other. I called them my primitive carbons and it took a somewhat close look to see what they really were.

I did the same thing a couple years ago. Took a dozen cedars, used an ebony stain on them and fletched them up with white shield cuts with white nocks. Made for a really nice looking batch of arrows. Only problem was they were really hard to find when the fletches had snaked under grass and leaves. I might do that again and use the chrome cap idea. How' s about topping it off with hot pink and chartreuse cresting?:)

Hey Chad!!!

Was just " surfin" , and hadn' t been here in a year or so. Things look different.

Just wanted to say HI!:)

No reason alums and carbon arrows can' t look at purty as woodies..

I like the CHROME paint cown dip idea.... Might be able to to loose less at 3D' s:D

I made some stealth arrows. black carbons with all black feathers and black nocks...[&:]
Don' t think I will try that again!!
