Massie Recurve......wow!!!
 

Chad she arrived yesterday from Jeff.........you know me I' m not impressed easily after 40 years of shooting arrows......this bow is exceptional!

I shot it right out of the box with various RRA spined and weights of arrows and they all flew like darts. His " cam action" limbs have to be shot to appreciate the real difference. She' s a screamer but with accuracy and a forgiving nature. It goes right where it is pointed. The selection of exotic woods and the cosmetics are awesome. Jeff out did himself on this one.....now I have a longbow and a recurve that are a match.

I' l get some pic' s as soon as I can to you. You really need to shoot one of these if you haven' t already. As soon as I can stop myself from shooting this I will order some strings from you.

Sounds really nice Jim! I don' t think I have shot one of Jeff' s bows (might have--I couldn' t begin to name all the ones I have shot), but I' d like to. Don' t see me owning one--just too stuck on longbows, and have found " the one" for me--but you never know!

Besides, how hard can it be to impress you--you even like my strings! ;)

The Massie recurve is a nice bow and looks great.
But is it as impressive as your Charlton 8550C ? ;)

Sag, That would be a tough one as both are on top of their game:) As Chad is with his strings

But, being as my range is just outside my door and the ocean is over an hour away and this is only my 2nd day off from work in the last 7 weeks I would have to give the coin toss to the Massie M series curve in that comparison. I can use it daily.

With this new Durango launch I may need casting lessons by the time I can wet a line again....we are on a 10 hour a day 6-7 day work week till April or May ' 04[:' (]

But he didn' t have to.

Sag, In all honesty....if you want one get it now. If SA decides to continue manufacturing them at a lower cost the quality couldn' t be the same as they are now. Yeah their pricey but that is a good thing. Look at it long term.....you will be buying the best possible fly reel on the market with no others even coming close. It is a bullet proof reel that will last several generations with daily use and your great grandchildren will be able to sell if for 4-10 times what you paid for it today. As in what a direct drive Seamaster or a Fin-Nor wedding cake does today.

If you look at it long term it is the best value on the market today. I know Just-Reels.com has them in stock currently. Do it and I assure you you will never regret it. If you can swing two spools get the bonefish and the bluewater....both will drive a higher price in the future as most buy it with the tarpon spool. I use my bonefish spool 90% of the time inshore and the offshore spool is without question the best bluewater design available...Jack Charlton is a machining master craftsman.

I didn' t realize they were being discontinued.
I might try and get one.
Just ordered a custom compound or I would get one for sure.
You' re right about it being a great investment.
