bleeder blade or not???
I've been on you tube watching a lot of traditional clips and noticed a lot of guys seem to shoot broadheads like the magnus with out bleeder blades... Just curious what you guys use...
Did seem like the broadhead without the bleeder blade did leave quite a good blood trail... |
Never used a bleeder blade myself. I think the blood trail depends on several things, but mainly how good the hit is. A gut shot won't bleed much regardless, a good double lung pass-through will.

It's all about penetration. I always use two blades. Usually Magnus.

Either is fine but without the bleeders you have a little better chance for a complete pass through. It's nice to have that exit hole when shooting from a tree stand where the entry will likely be high.

Gotcha!!!
I just sharpened my 125 magnus last night while at work... I think I'll be using them without the bleeder blade... Thanks |
Depends on what bow and quiver I'm using. With my back quiver, I use my two blades without bleeders (Zwickey or Bear), because they don't tangle in the bottom of the quiver as much. With my side quivers or a bow mounted quiver, I really like my 150 gr. Thunderheads.
