dominant eye ?

ok I've been strugling with this traditional archery... I am dominant eye left. but shoot right handed... I shoot pretty good right handed and reciently got a left handed recurve(cheapo) anyhow i've been shooting it for a few weeks and just am getting tired of trying to learn left handed...

My question is...

How many people shoot there recurve with the wrong eye???

I build bows, so i have learned to shot left handed bows (not good, but good enough to shoot them in). It is not easy to switch. It would be easier for you to train your body to your eye, then try to train your eye to your body. Just my two cents.

I've only shot cross-dominant (shooting left-handed when I'm right eye dominant and right handed)--it's tricky to me. From what I've read, I'd say learn to shoot with your dominant eye.

It is frustrating for awhile, but I assure you, you will be a better shot if you stick with shooting with your dominant eye. I am left handed, and right eye dominant

I should have said "I've only shot cross-dominant a little bit". Sorry for the confusion.

Dominant left eye; can't shoot left handed

Maybe your dominant left eye is now seeing too clearly and observing your lousy form while shooting left handed.

Have you considered retiring both eyes?

One way to strengthen a weaker eye is to use a patch on the dominant eye,
Few hrs a day at home, over few months is enough to considerably strengthen a weak eye, and doesn't weaken dominant eye,

Well my eye is not the prob... It's the fact that I have to re learn how to shoot a bow all over again...

On the bright side, learning how to shoot all over again could be a positive thing. Get some good instruction and/or coaching and leave all the bad habits behind.

When I get a chance I plan to learn to shoot all over. I won't be switching from right to left, but I want to re-train myself to hopefully improve my release and leave some bad habits behind.

If you have been shooting with the opposite hand, the transition should be easier than if you were learing from scratch.

Yea this is true... I've got spring and summer to figure it out
