Guess How Big
 

Here is a pic of a few of the bears we saw today at the bear ranch. I know the weights, see who can guess the closest. This one is 23 years old.


This one is 7 yrs old.


This one is 5 yrs old.

OK, I' ll bite. :D The first one has seen waaayyyyy too many jelly doughnuts, and I' d put him at around 425, maybe better. Number 2 (based on only the ' south bound' photo) should go 300 and Boo-Boo looks around 200#.

All guess' s subject to change with more pictures... ;)

I don' t know diddley about bears, but I' ll take a stab at it. First photo, 550#; second photo, hard to say--250# maybe?; third photo, 150#

Looks like CT was the closest overall.

They were all weighed with the last month, so the weights should be pretty close yet.

Wow I must be a partial genius...LOL. Figured that first one was really big with that belly hanging to the ground, definitely a Dunkin donut regular. Second one was a nice shooter, probably a fat free Dunkin donut muffin eater, third was on a diet, probably eating Subway sandwiches. Those were some nice bears. Only reason I could guess was the 3 times I hunted in Saskatuan(?). Guide made us watch videos to judge bear size, and I saw some big boys!!!!! Got 2 of them on my wall. Third time I passed up one like the second one because I saw one almost as big as the first one above. But as it usually goes I never got a shot. Really spoils ya. Great job with the pics.

Chad we need to get you up there to hunt some of those big boys during the bear rut. Really an adrenelin rush!!!!!!!!!

I' ll be going to Maine at the end of August for my first Trad bear hunt. My other hunts I used a compound. Probably won' t see any real big ones, but don' t really care. This will be my first Trad hunt so any bear will be a trophy.
