Dont know why

I've been shooting bows since 1974, and I've shot both recurves and longbows...shot my first longbow in 1989.
For some reason I can walk out and pick a spot with a longbow and I seem to hit where I'm looking easier. I've wanted to shoot recurves, that's where I began in archery. I took my brother's old Martin ML-14 out today as I've done from time to time...haven't shot the bow in a month and just start hitting where I'm looking. When I'm on with the recurve I'm on...but it seems I have to try harder.
The old ML-14 is 55 lbs listed on the bow but I think it is really about 60 lbs, if it was about 50 lbs. it would be just right for me.

I'm the opposite. Easier for me with a recurve.

I have to "marry" my bows. It takes me time to get down a new bow. I can pull out one of my longbows or recurves and be on in a no time, but when I get a new bow in hand, it takes some time to get the shot down.
