Look for a used 60's Bear Grizzly, they have been killin critters for years and are a work horse of a bow, always have been!

$150 or less will cover a lot of used bows. What is your draw length? If it's around the average 28", I'd look for something around 62" long, 40# or so.

i shoot 28 on my compound, but i got a shorter draw becuase i hunt blinds, i can pull back a little more.

doesnt pulling back farther increase draw weight?

Yep--the further you pull, the more you pull. Most are marked at 28", unless it was custom made for a particular draw length.

I hunt from a blind with a 66" longbow--just have to get a big enough blind.

ok guys thanks alot. im gonna go to the shop and take a look at what they have, and hopefully shoot a couple.

I'm curious. I have two 66" recurves. What brand and model of blind do you bowhunt out of?

about the blind hunting, would agling your bow at lets say about 30-35 degrees put your shot off the mark? just wondering becuase i see people on tv who shoot their trad bows like they would a compound and then some that angle it.

I have two Ameristep Penthous blinds, and plan to order a third. One thing to watch with them--don't stake them out too tight, or you'll ruin the zipper. I hear there's a Yukon blind that's almost as big, and works well also.

SDO, you can shoot either way--whichever works for you.
