for Backwoods Bum

In case you were interested... my 31" (BOP) beman 400 hunters weigh out at 515 gr. when they're tipped with zwickey 2 blade BH's with a glue-in adapter. This is without any extra internal weight added. That gives a grain-to-pound ratio of just shy of 9.5 gr.(for a 55# draw) With field points they come out to about 465gr or approx. 8.5gr/lb.

Something that interested me, and which I didn't realize until tonight when I started weighing a bunch of arrows , is that the 400 hunter model is about 35gr heavier than the standard 400 model, at least at 31". I use mainly the hunter but still have a couple of the regular 400's kicking around from the first batch of carbons I bought. Other than the weight, I haven't noticed any differences in flight characteristics.

RE: for Backwoods Bum

Thanks for the info. It sounds like I won't have to worry about adding weight after all.
