No kiddin? I heard mulberry looks simular and oxidizes like osage.

When you take off that sapwood, let me know if the spring wood is reddish. Reason being, is I have a stave that is supposal mulberry. Wide rings. Gold like osage. But the early wood is reddish. I honestly don't know what it is.

Mark.

I dont think it will have any spring growth cause the limb was dead. But I'll check it:p

Besides that now I have it split I intend to just run it through the band saw in prep to make laminations.

The top log in the first pic I will probably just cut up into riser lenghts as its not exactly straight enough for lams.

Everyone that lives around Russ have gone out and bought a pit bull to guard their trees since he started making bows. I don't have any trees that are worth cutting in my yard yet so I'm safe, unless he starts to make arrows out of Red Tipped Patina's!:deer:
