Today is the day.
 

I' m closing on 81 acres of hunting land today. I' m very nervous! I keep thinking something will go wrong. It should all be over by noon. My wife thinks I' m nuts for spending all this money for hunting. I' m telling her that I' m not spending it, I' m realigning my portfolio! She' s not impressed. It' s a dream of mine that looks like it is coming to fruition! Dick

Congrats. My wife actually wants to buy some land for hunting and a cabin. We haven' t found any we can afford in the Northeast.

The only thing that could go wrong is maybe a tornado or earthquake. Wildfire running through the streets. Or the greatest of calamaties for a title company... All the pens in the place running dry at the same time!;)

Congrats on becoming a member of the landed aristocracy! Will we have to begin addressing you as Squire Dick4Bows? :D

Dick, I have been there too. I bought 35 acres 2 years ago. Don' t worry, you cannot go wrong buying land. There is a limited amount of land so you won' t or should not loose money. My property gives me a place to hunt deer, and go to on the weekends. I was never a turkey hunter but this spring I tried it for the first time. I got a 19# tom with an 11.5" beard. I also found I have an abundance of Murrells. Neither the turkey hunting or the mushrooms were even a thought when I bought the land; they were welcome perks I did not expect to get. Wait till you settle in, then first time you hunt your stand and realize that this is your land. You will feel very happy.
