Having A Blast
 

Wow this is way more fun than I expected it to be. I have been shooting the ole' grizzly quite alot in the past few days and I tell you what this is fun fun fun. I am not whacking x's everytime by any means but I can hit the vitals of my little target 6/10 times at 15 yrds. Something about shooting a trad bow really appeals to me. I raised my knock a little and got my arrows flying straight. I am using the Easton 2016 xx75 camo hunter arrows, they are like 29 1/4 in. long and weight 10.6 gpi. also have a 125 field tip in the ends of em. Do I need to up my tip weight for KE?

Do most of you guys shoot with split fingers, or three under the arrow??

Another question. When hunting from an elevated stand do you aim like w/ a compound just a little low. I am not planning on game hunting anytime soon but just a tidbit to keep in the back of my mind.

I am gonna try like heck to be accurate enough by turkey season this spring, would love to get a bird w/ the recurve.
Anyways just ramblin.

I shoot 3under. But wish I didn't. Some bows never shoot well 3 under. And most bows out there used are tillered for split. 3under is good for gap shooting up to 20-30 yards however.

Split is putting equal force behind the arrow. Where with 3 under, your release can be more sensitive depending on how that ring finger is positioned at release. Thats why some even shoot 2 finger split.

I draw 3 split and once at anchor drop my ring finger off the string so I have a 2 finger split release;)

I keep promising myself to try it one day. But I feel so set in my ways. A few weeks ago, I was playing around with split 2 and still haven't found a few arrows.:D

At first it will feel very awkward but once you get the hang of it and it's firmly set in the ole grey matter it will feel more natural;)

Oh dont worry about the lost arra's you needed some new ones anyway:D

The best way for you to answer that question Zach Is to practice from an elevated stand or position. Your question will then be answered.;)

I have to admit the bug got me. I always figured it would. I spent all day shooting yesterday switching from the compound the the recurve. That was like a little piece of heaven for me.
