When you do the split in the recurve do what I have done in the pic.

There is a light under the silver bubble wrap putting heat on whats under there;)

But I ain't saying whats under there just yet:D

Your cooking a kangaroo?

RE: OHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ok I think it's about time I let the cat out of the bag or should I say my new limbs from under the bubble wrap:d

I still have to rip them lenght wise down to about 1/8" then run them through the drum sander to taper them.

The woods are Yellowheart and Makore with a sliver of Canarywood to take up any kerf left by the bandsaw.

There is still some epoxy on the joint but the drum sander will take care of that.;)

Nice. Looks real cool Russ.

RE: OHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Here is a full view.

The join will be mid limb the line at the top of the Yellowheart will be the finished lenght, for an overall lenght of 66".

Have the other pieces in the mini heat box.

RE: OHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Here are both of them all done ready to rip length wise.

As you can see they will be reversed when the bow is put together ie on the back Yellowheart towards the tips and on the belly the Makore will be towards the tips or visa versa depending on how I feel on that particular day:D

Brad.

Thats a nice looking limb.

Kent.

He does?

Actually I done this before I found his web site[8D]

But it is OHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOO now I just found out the table saw is a little too rough on them, they blew apart at the join as I was ripping them.[:@]

Looking at Harpers site I can see where I went wrong so it's back to the drawing board.

Gonna have to make up afence for the band saw which should not be near as rough on them as the table saw.

RE: OHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I was wondering how delicate that would be. I am sure you will get it right.
