arrow glue alternative?
Hey all, I hope your spring is warmer than ours, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! It is damned cold here. Anyhow the snow is gone and the turkeys are strutting in the backyard so warmer weather is not far away. I am currently working on some new arrows and have taken several peoples advice of using acrylic latex paints for my cresting, so naturally I was wondering if fletch tite is going to work or is there something better?

Though I haven' t tried it myself, I know many folks use Duco Cement.

Go with the Bohning fletch tape. No dry times, no mess, and it' ll stick to about anything. Just make sure there isn' t a bunch of dirt and the likes on your fingers and the shaft. The tape holds very well, but if you mess a feather up you can grab it and rip it off then clean the excess quill off with a knife. The tape holds so well that I' ve ripped feathers off before and had the feather come off but the tape stayed on the shaft. The tape is pretty cheap too. It' s a few dollars for a roll long enough to fletch around three dozen arrows at least. I' m not even half way through my first roll and I' ve done two or three dozen arrows with it. Brandan |

RE: arrow glue alternative?
Nope, no free trip to the desert as of yet, just a little work, lots of family time, and just plain fun shooting the bows. It has been a great time since returning home on 8 March. As you can tell I have been dabbling in the archery accessories area, I have even refinished two more bows since being home. Thanks for all the suggestions, I think I will pick up some of that goat tuff to try, I have not had great luck with the fletch tape in the past.
