Another new toy for the shop
 

I have been eyeing off this belt/drum sander combo for a while now.

With all the big after Thanksgiving sales going on I could not help myself:)

I was given a $100 Home Depot gift card so I added a little of my hard earned money ( well not exactly hard earned:D) bit the bullet and brought it.;)

You are going to like that. I was in the shop last night cleaning up a bow and realized im in need of a spindal sander. I guess that is what ill ask Santa for.

Well I just done the fade outs on a Morado (Bolivian Rosewood)riser and I tell ya what the sander is a beauty almost silent running (I can actually hear myself think for a change:D)

Toolless interchange frombelt to drum.

I should have brought this one a long time ago;)

Go get one today as and say to the little lady "thanks for the great chrissy present":);):D

Going all out huh Russ? Ridgid...going with the good stuff and bypassing Harbor Freight are you? That could pay dividends in the long run for you.

Unfortunately I can't do a build along this time as it's a Chrissy present for some one on the forum:)

Matter of fact I can't even mention the woods I will be using;)

But it is gonna look real sweet:D

You have new tools to show but working on James Bond projects! Your like a woman...just keep teasing...no offense ladies.:)The upgrade in tools should make the work easier and your work should so it,always had nice handi work just want to see if could get better.Gonna need bigger shop soon!

I'll spill the beans fellas, My wonderful GF contacted Russ about making me a bow. GOD Bless her...Well I guess its only fair since im buying her a brand new Mathews Ignition for christmas:D But I figured out what the present is, So if you want to do a build-along Russ go right ahead. Oh by the way. The take-down you sent for me to test shoot is a real champ. They guys at the shop loved the woods you used. I like it. A LOT!!! She is one smooth shooter. By the way fellas. The pictures Russ posted of that takedown he made do it NO justice. A quality Job Russ.

By the way when it comes to mine, how do ya feel about trying to make it with 40lb limbs? Thinking I want to shoot it for indoor target season since we need some guys for the longbow team to try and reclaim the state championship, then get you to make me a second heavier set of limbs later on.

But you ain't getting it untill Christmas day I'll send it to Tana with specific orders NOT to let you have it till the 25th:D

Yeah Jim one of the owners of the shop shot it. He liked it alot. They loved the woods. He also liked the grip and didn't have a problem with the areas on it like I thought there might be. and as a matter of fact I liked the grip too. It was actually quite repeatable for me. All i say is just round the edges a little bit and it will be super.

China Freight is good for some stuff. WAYYYY bad for others.

I'm trying to get the fiance to go along with rewiring the garage for 220v($$$$)and getting a grizzly cabinet saw($$$). "But honey...just think how much money we could save on furniture." Little benownst to her it's for my future endeavers of bow and canoe building.
