What I have been up to lately.....

I have taken my first baby steps in the traditional direction...I have read the past 2 editions of Traditional Bowhunter Mag and have reading some very cool articles in there... I have been checking out recurves and talking with some folks about venturing in next yr... I want to get the feeling back of shooting the simple way like I did when i was 12... just stick and string...

That's awesome Landon! When I hear this I want to ramble on about the feelings I get when I hunt with bear bones but I won't get all crazy on the subject. It's truely a blast. The feeling of taking an animal instinctive is like no other.

And don't be surprised. With some practice you can be deadly out to 20 yards or so.

Go grab a bow and shoots some arrows..Just shoot..don't worry about "this and that" just learn with yourself. It's like thowing a baseball.

I like to imagine an aspirin or something very small when I point and shoot.

Ask Shultzy (Steve)about everthing under the sun.

If you want to learn about wrapping deer tendons on cedar shafts and flint heads..you can ask me...but thats bottom of the barrel :)

Brian

Just to get you pumped.

My Uncle with bear bones:

Check out those heads..those heads will leave a deer dead in 30 yards like a rage or any other whistle. Guaranteed. (When placed correctly)

Me and Dad 1986

My bear bone bow (Osage Wood @ 70 pounds, hard on the
joints!)

When I was 21 I bagged my first deer in 15 degree weather with a laminent long bow and Zwickey Heads

Its all in what your prefer...I have some history with traditional stick bows and long bows...but I'd really like to get a sweet recurve to call my own. I have a Martin Howat Hunter @ 55 pounds...but I'd like to find something different to play with. I'd be glad to answer questions but I'd ask Shultzy as well. I look up to him on this stuff. The writing is on the wall of his huntin room.
