Bear Alaskan from yard sale? Pics too.

I picked up two new bows at a yard sale, one is a Ben Pearson in great condition, the second is the Bear, an Alaskan that doesn't seem to be quite right. It is in OK shape, limbs are straight but it is built for left or right handed shooters.
The bow feels very good in my hands and I would like to shoot it, but am concerned with the fact it may have been weakened. Is this a normal bow or has someone chopped it at some point?
Is it safe to shoot?
Thanks!
David

I have a double shelved Bear Polar that's pretty old.I saw a catalogue for 1961(I think) and it wasn't listed so I'm assuming it's older.
If your Alaskan is maple and has light greay glass,it was made in 1958.If it is walnut and has red & black glass,it was made from 1959-1961.This is for the 62" semi-recurves
The full working Alaskan recurves were made from 1966-1970,year made is depending on the length

It is maple with gray, interesting to get a date on it and to hear it is factory made like this, so I guess it is safe to shoot then! It is a nice thin limbed bow.
Here are some more Pictures, the other bow is the Ben Pearson "All-American", it is in almost perfect condition.

The last picture is of one of the limb tips of the Alaskan, I am a bit concerned about it, it has been nicked, is this an issue?

Here Is the All-American.

Now the limb tip of the Bear Alaskan, is this safe to use?
