Compound shooting?

Just wondering if anyone here shoots or tried to shoot a compound bow instinctivley. I was watching Fred Ashbel video Instinctive Shooting and he had someone with a compound. Just Curious?

RE: Compound shooting?

I shot compounds that way for the better part of 16 years (' 84 - ' 99). Also shot gap and point-of-aim with it depending on what type of tournament I was in.

I did many moons ago when I first started bowhunting at 14. I could not afford a sight so I just shot the bow. I got very good at it then received a sight for Christmas two years later. Wish I had never put it on.

I haven' t but back when I used to shoot 3D a lot (late ' 80s) there was a division called BareBow. They were mostly compound shooters that shot without sights.

RE: Compound shooting?

Since my arthritis has gotten my stickbow shooting confined to my ' good days' , and since I don' t have many good days any more, I shoot compound. But I don' t shoot strictly instinctive. Within 30 yards, I shoot instinctive. Beyond that, I' ve got a gap system I use. I also shoot off an elevated rest (Cavalier MicroFlyte flipper), 3-under. I' m almost as good a shot without the sights and release as I am with them.
