string material

I have a quick question, maybe some-one has the answer.
I just got a new L/B, Manchster solo,68" 45# @ 28",,NOW ,is this bow able to use a f/f string or somthing similar or should I stay with Dacron? I am going to Flemish twist (cause it is prettier to me :D) But I would like to know about the f/f ,no info came with the bow.
Thanks.
David.

RE: string material

Depends if it has overlays. Most bows these days are safe with ff. Is it new? How hold is it?

If its rather old, I would shoot B500.

RE: string material

Ask the bowyer/manufacturer. Some new bows, even with overlays, aren't warrantied with anything other than dacron. If it is made to accept FF type materials, I'd go with a 10-12 strand Dynaflight '97 with the loops padded to 18 strands.

As mentioned, it depends on what the tip overlays are made of. If its bone, horn, composite material, or glass, you should be O.K.. Id do as LBR suggests, check with the maker.
