Opening morning doe
Not much of a story. I set up on a heavy used trail. She came walking in at about 9:30 opening morning. She was at a hard quarter away, so i put the arrow way back on her. She dropped in her tracks.

RE: Opening morning doe
Congrats on the doe Kent.
You had a better opening than Greg and I;) I had a big bore come in early Sat. morning but still too dark to take a shot, Sat evening Greg set up in a make shift ground blind and got winded by a couple of doe's and then some pigs[:@] This morning on my way to the ground blind I got busted by some doe's. Neither of us got a shot off[&:]:([:'(][:@] |
RE: Opening morning doe
Sorry to hear it. Sat. I saw a lot of deer. This was the only decent deer to go by. Saw several little bucks, but nothing worth shooting. I did see several hogs, but just ran them off. This morning I should have shot one, but I keep holding out for another deer. Never got within 100 yards of them.

Mate.
What was the acorns like where you are? We where in Nugent and the ground was covered with them and still a lot of green ones on the oaks. I have never seen them drop this early before. |

RE: Opening morning doe
Nice!
You obviously got an exit wound there as well, was it a complete pass through? And just out of interest what sort of gear were you using arrow weight, broadhead, bow make and draw weight? I thought you were going to be using your bamboo backed longbow this season? Or am I confused there? |
