broadhead alignment question....
 

First off I am a wheel shooter and admire you guys very much.

Moving on to the topic....a member in the tech forum mentioned for me to ask here since you guys are more familiar with them....

which alignment with a trad style (magnus stinger) broadhead makes for the best arrow flight. Remember, I am a wheel bow shooter, but figured some knowledge would deffinately overlap.

Stingers shouldn't need any alignment help. Just screw them in, and if you want to check for straightness, cut two V notches in a shoe box at each short end, lay the shaft on it and spin it, checking for wobble.

With quality shafts and inserts, you shouldn't have to worry about this. Most of these issues are related to heads being glued on a shaft or adapter.

If they spin test ok, you shouldnt have to worry about alignment. That is, as long as the arrow is tuned to the bow properly.

thanks...i'll double check the spin test on them. I shoot Easton A/C/C's on a compund bow, but since it's a trad style head, I figured Id ask here as suggested. Just gotta find my roller now [&:]

I’m shooting stingers with my trad gear. Other than spin testing(which all heads spin perfect with all my arrows, gotta love that), The actual orientation of the blades has not given me any noticeable difference in accuracy.

I'm a little different on the subject. Granted it may not effect arrow flight. But I like to have all of the arrows coming off the bow the same way (same alignment). It helps me mentally in practice as I see the arrows the same way. I also align them for safety reason so that if the arrow does fall off, it will not cut my fingers. Some people also like to feel the back off the broadhead on their fingers just to know that they have come to full draw.

I like to align mine all the same as well. My bow was badly out of tune when I first tried them. Now that I have the bow in tune, I havent shot them. I like the concept of the Magnus Stingers. I like the Trad style head on the modern gear...Thanks guys. I will check it out today or tomorrow and report back.

Exactly Burnie!

For me It's more of a personal preference on how I want my BH pointed when Its on the arrow. Some like them laying flat, some like them straight up. It's more personal then anything. Either way they will fly just fine as long as they spin good when you spin test them like Burnie eluded to.
