Finger positions
I like to shoot my recurve a few times a week when I'm at the range. My plan is if I can take a buck with my compound I'll hunt for a doe with the recurve. Anyhow, I had been shooting with my index finger above the arrow and my middle and ring fingers below. I was watching the Primos Bowhunting videos and almost all of them shoot three fingers below the arrow so I decided to give it a shot. I was shocked at how much better I shot. I guess the reason to do that would be to raise the arrow closer to the line of sight. Whatever it's supposed to do it worked.
How do you all shoot? |
RE: Finger positions
Three fingers under.

At the moment I shoot split but only beacause I dont have a nock on my string;)

RE: Finger positions
I shoot three under. Reason I did was finger pinch. With a proper length bow, I would have never moved to 3 under. Now, I couldn't imagine changing back. I highly suggest people start with split finger. It is quieter on most bows. And some bows, no matter what won't shoot well 3 under depending on the tiller. I have had a few recurves that no matter the nocking point, I should get the arrow from flipping. And most bows you buy used are tillered for split.

RE: Finger positions
I shoot split. Always have. 3 under just doesn't feel right.

RE: Finger positions
I shoot split. I tried the 3 under thing for a solid year and never really felt comfortable with it.

RE: Finger positions
Used to be split, because my nocks were loose and the arrows kept falling off, but i got new nocks on them and tried 3 under and was amazed at how well it went. Been 3 under for about 2 years now.
