Sims Limb Savers

OK, I know they don' t exactly look traditional, but I have been curious for a long time regarding how effective these simple little pieces of rubber are, so I finally tried a pair.

They are flat out amazing, truly remarkable. Significantly reduces vibration and REALLY silences the shot. My groups tightened up too, whether because of reduced vibration or simply because of increased confidence. I was dumbfounded.[:o]

ANyone else use these on their ' curves?

Yeah, I put them on my old Kodiak Hunter and they were pretty nice. Even on my compound when I still shot that they were amazing. They do kind of ruin the romanticism of the " traditional look" though. But if you' re not concerned about that, try the string leeches too. They' re also remarkable.

Has anyone checked their arrow speed before and after applying the Limb Savers? I would think that the additional limb mass would rob some speed. Dick

Dick,

I used to put them on the limb just past the end of the fades (or wedges). No speed loss there. If a person put them further out on the limb I think they' d lose a few fps though.

If we were that concerned about losin an fps or two I don' t think we' d be shootin tradtional bows anyhow. Who knows how many times it' s been said, but it doesn' t matter how fast it' s going if it makes too much noise gettin there. A deer or whatever critter can " jump the string" faster than any arrow, so it' s better to have it quiet, don' t ya think? I didn' t chrono the recurve I shot them on before, but it averaged 150fps. Even at 45# it could thump the target pretty nicely.

Brandon,
Just a question. My 45# bow shoots @ 170fps. No handshock or noise. (Check-mate hunter) Dick

Thanks to each of you. For the time being, I am very pleased with their performance. I think I could have placed mine closer toward the limb tips than I did, but other than that, I Like them very much & will continue to use them. I haven' t checked for speed loss. All I know is I can shoot where I am looking and it is a LOT quieter.
