Shaft selection for a recurve
What would be a good alum shaft for a 48# recurve at 29" draw? 2016? 2117?

RE: Shaft selection for a recurve
A 30" 2016 would most likely work pretty good

Thanks bro!

1916's would work as well.

RE: Shaft selection for a recurve
I'm using 2016 with my Kings Pawn 54#'s at 29". So I'm also guessing 1916's should work well or at least be close.

I have about the same setup. I've been using gold tip traditionals 35-55's and they've been awesome. Very durable especially when stump shooting. The only downside is they're always straight so no excuses for missing. This can be a problem when stumpin with your bud's.

I'm curious how carbons' lend themselves to refletching. HOW does one go about stripping the OLD feather off and refletching the shaft w/o disturbing the carbon fibers when cleaning off the OLD fletch?

RE: Shaft selection for a recurve
They make fletching removers that don't harm the shaft. Cabelas carries some or bass pro, look there.

Use the dullest knife you have and scrape.
