what broadheads
 

Ok you guys helped with my arrow selection.I am going with the 2117 xx78's. Now my next question is what broadheads would be the best. I know i should use cut on contact but which ones? I was thinking one of these two.

I must have a couple of dozen different two-bladed broadheads that I've used at one time or another over the years. As long as the broadhead will fly straight, is sharp, and you hit the deer in a vital spot,most of them will do the job, including those you've selected. With tratitional equipment, the cut-on-contact types are your better choices. Just be sure to shoot the arrow with the broadhead on it before trying to use it. My Block target allows me to do this. One thing I do before shooting it, however, is spin it to see if there is any wobble with the broadhead on the shaft. Because of the insert system, shooting aluminum will probably give you more that won't wobble than if you were shooting wood.If spinningthe broadhead on the shaft gives me wobble, I always re-heat the glue and reposition the broadhead. Sometime I find that I can't position the broadhead on that particular shaft without having wobble, so I try another broadhead until I get the right combination. When I do, Inumber the broadheadand the arrow with a magic marker in case I laterreplace it with a field point.My goal with broadheads is to find ones that will shoot to the samespot as my field points on other similar arrows so that I can practice with confidence with my field point arrowsknowing that when I go hunting my arrows with broadheads will fly true. It's not complicated but it does take a little time. Tom

What is your draw length?

The stinger is a nice broadhead, but I think your arrow is to stiff a spine.

Both of them Broad heads you mentioned are excellent choices. Trust me, they will work for you!

I shoot the Magnus 4 blade. I shoot it in front of both 30" 2117 and 2216's. It shoots the same on either one. It's a very deadly, tough head and I have no flight problems. I've shot as many as 4 deer with the same head.
