Kingfisher

Hello to all. I would like to start shooting a recurve, Im looking at a PSE Kingfisher. 40#. I know that these are cheaper bows but I am on a limited budget right now. What are your thoughts on these bows? I have a 28 1/2 pull length. What would be a good starting point as far as arrows. Thanks in advance for any and all info.[8D]

RE: Kingfisher

I have a 60" Kingfisher,45#@28"--bought it used for $60.It's basically PSE's bowfishing model. That's what I use mine for.It has a cast riser and limbs so it's a bit heavy and really doesn't balance too well.It also has a lousy grip.I put tennis racket tape on mine to build it up a little and make it more comfortable to shoot. For a bowfishing bow that you wouldn't be afraid to drop or dunk in the water(and don't do that-it'll sink like an anchor;))it's ok--for a hunting bow,I'd spend the $100 or so that it costs and buy a used Pearson,Bear,Wing, etc.
