How do you measure a bowstring?

I recently picked up an old "Firestone" 45# Lemonwood longbow, and I'd like to get a spare string or two for it.

There's nothing written on the bow itself except for the draw weight.

How do I measure the length of the string? (measure from the center of the loops, end of the loops or the beginning of the loops?)

I hope that I'm being clear enough with the question...

Thanx in advance for any clarification on this!

RE: How do you measure a bowstring?

End to end--I prefer them measured under a little tension. For instance, hang one loop on a nail and put a pencil in the other and pull it tight before measureing. AMO measurements are supposed to be measured under 100# tension.
