SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED!
Ain't it the truth! I'm enjoying it, though. The glue is drying on the third feather of the first arrow to get fletched. Just bareshafted about 30 shots. I'm so pumped on the bareshaft flight I just got at 10 yards. The first one was all goofy looking because of a bad release, but just about every shot was straight in. No tail left, no tail right. At 8 yards, there was no perceptable tail high. At 10 yards, just the tinest bit tail high. At 15 and 20, the tail high started to show. Is that because of a decent FOC %??? I put two 100 grain weights in the front plus a 125 grain point and the insert. On the back is the nock adapter, one 50 grain weight and one 20 grain weight and the nock. I don't know how much the adapter, insert and feathers weigh, but the total weight should be around 580 grains.

Whoa I think You are off on the math a bit if I'm reading that correctly? LOL [:-]

100+100+125+50+20+15ish(insert)+30 (nock adapter)+13grs (nock Bohning Sig)= 453grs

The shaft I think is about 8.5grs inch?, so your shaft alone weighs approx 250grs

So your grand total is actually around..............703grs!?[:-]

I would definitely back off on one of the 100gr front weights. You'll still have around 240grs up front which is PLENTY.

703 grains sounds great - I hope mine reaches that weight after I build them !

Graphlex shafts, No Mercy heads with steel inserts .....

Okay... big "OOPS" here. We'll just call it a "brain fart". I put two 50 grain weights in the front, not two 100 grain weights.[X(][X(] So that's:
Shaft: 8.6 gpi @ 29" 250 grains
Weights: 50+50+50+20170 grains
Nock Adapter30 grains
Point/Broadhead 125 grains
Insert 15 grains
Nock 13 grains
603 grains total weight.
No wrap or cresting... just feathers, so that won't add much.

No idea why I typed 100 grain weights. I don't think they make them. Still, 603 grains total weight is DECENT, and they fly SWEET! I just need to figure out my FOC percentage now.

I think 600+ grains will still get it done!

Set up the way you have it now your FOC is right about 10%.........(I came up with 9.9% +/-)

Forget all of what I did have here on this post. I just took the 50 grain weight off of the back, giving me 240 grains up front (everything included), 67.5 grains in the back (everything included) and a 250 grain shaft. 557.5 grain arrow with a 14.81 FOC. Test shot it and it flies better than it did. I'll keep on tweaking it.
