RE: The bow arm
Guys, I just gotta ask. Whats with all the goofy starwars stuff? I am seeing it everywhere.
Ok, was playing around tonight tuning up a nieghbor's compound and got it papertuned, and decided to fling some arrows thru the paper with my trad bows. One thing I found is, you can use the paper for a learning tool. I purposely plucked a few arrows, and instantly got a nock right tear. I short drew a few times by only an inch or so, and again a nasty tear. I started concentrating on my release and a strong bow arm and bullet holes. I always bare shaft plane tune, but the good news is the bare shaft leads to good paper tears, and two, it looks to be an effective way to practice a release on days you can't get out in the yard. |

RE: The bow arm
Never thought of it, but I noticed I shoot best when I do not think of my release. When i start trying to get a smoother release, I tend to have bad shots. I guess its because I think of it and in trying to make it better, I change it. So it always comes out bad. If im not thinking about the release, I go back to doing it the way ive done it for years, which is more consistant. I tend to focuse more on brace hand push to the target, and back tension. That is when I get my best shots.
