Anyone shooting carbon arrows?
 

I would like to start shooting carbon arrows. I've already tried Gold Tips and didn't care for them.
I'm shooting a 64" custom recurve 56# @ 28" with a 5" 3 fletched 29 1/2" arrow...off of a rug style rest.

Any brand suggestions, web sites, etc. are appreciated.

I've tried the things. For a wide variety of reasons, I won't shoot them again. I prefer my carbon as an elemental component of wood.

I'm shooting the Arrow Dynamics - Traditional (www.nitro-stinger.com)from my longbows. They shoot great! My longbows are 64" 55 to 57# @ 28". I'm shooting 31" Trads with a 125 grain tip. They are a tapered design and appear to be pretty tough. I haven't tried heavier heads but have been told they will fly great with 160 grain broadheads and my current setup. Web site is just so-so. Contact Greg at G & M Archery (218) 224-3263, he can give you more info and sell you some. I shot Bemen ICS and another brand that escapes me out of my compound and didn't care for them. The Trads are heavy at 12 grains per inch which I like.

I've been shooting the Beman ICS Camo Hunters for a few years now. Very durable and consistent. You might want to give them a look.

I tried the Goldtips myself, and then tried the Blackhawk carbonwoods, and now shooting the carbon woods 3000's out of my Bill Price Longbow 55" at 28" and my arrows are 28.75" with 125 grain point. with yours the 3000's might work, but I would go to the 4000's.

I'm shooting 1/2 dozen Beman ICS Hunter 400s that I won at a shoot. To get them to spine right for my 52#@28" longbow, which I only draw to 26", I had to cut them to 31.5" with 125gr tips and the 4" offset feathers they came with. Total arrow weight is 415grs. They fly like rockets; makes me feel like I'm shooting a compound. But they are soooooo UGLY!

I've used Gold Tips 55/75 Hunter shafts out of my 55#@27" Chek Mate
Falcon. I didn't have a problem with them in any way. After losing a few while hunting and just roving in the woods I stopped at my local archery shop for some new arrows. They had a new batch of the Vapor Carbonwood arrows so I bought a half dozen of the 3000's and I've been very happy with them.

Holy moly, its cold here in Ohio!

I tried the tapered carbons that three rivers sells. I found they did fly well...about 2 feet to the right of where I look. I crested mine, and have tried them in every bow I own(several) same story. Must be the diameter. I prefer wood, then aluminum, then fiberglass. Too new-fangled for me.
