Some help on arrow straightening?
I just picked up a dozen ramin shafts and a few have some bends in them. I try straightening them by grabbing the bend and flexing the shaft in the opposite direction, but it doesn't go away. So if you'ns could toss me a couple opinions on some straightening tools, about how much they cost and where I could find it; it'd be great. Brandan |

Woodchuck makes a brass tool for straightening-costs about $10.You can also make your own.Get a wooden dowel about 1" wide by 6" long.Screw a tea cup holder into the one end.I snip off the very end to open it up a bit.Works pretty good.

The catch word here is Ramin. It makes good, heavy arrows, but is a bear to straighten and keep straight. Fir, Birch,Sitka Spruce, Poplar, and of course, P.O.Cedar will take hand straightening a lot better. Yellow Poplar is my choice for a hardwood arrow.

heat bar none! Sticking in the oven, around 100 degrees. Let them heat through the core and they'll straighting like noodles. Let them cool, checkem again.
