My DAS is 193 at 9gr/lb.

RE: Speed of your Trad bows
The last time I checked mine which was about 8 years ago I was getting right around 220 fps give or take. It can wing them out there very quick for a recurve but I'm also shooting 73lbs at my draw weight. I'd like to do it again to see if it would be any less as the bow gets older. My dads Big Horn recurve would put them out about 200 fps when it was new 20 years back.

RE: Speed of your Trad bows
My homemade longbow and my ChekMate Kings Pawn both draw 50 pounds @ 32"and they each like 2216 arrows. I chrono'd them once when I bought the club's chronograph. Had to test it ya know. ;)
Anyway, the 2216's weigh in at 570 grains. That's 11.4 grains per pound. My longbow shoots 'em at 186 fps. The Kings Pawn does 185. Edit: Added grains per pound for my arrow weight. Just to make everyone happy. ;)[8D] |

Also should have stated-the Black Widows are 47,51 & 54#.Shafer is 56# and the Northern Mist is 52#.My draw is a shade over 26"

Didn't mean it as a criticism or a contest - just pointing out the info needed fo relevancy.
To get the grains per lb divide the total arrow wght by your draw wght. Based on info at the easton site, your arrow wght appears to be around 500 grns giving you gr/lb of 6.85 With your 29" draw, the 220 sounds about right - most would consider your bow heavy, but the arrow light for it. Steve |
