fletching

I am confused. When I first started traditional archery bout a yearago and started making my own arrows, I read up on here that if you shoot left helical you need left wing feathers. I read later that that was wrong. I have a Martin J8 fletcher left helical clamp. For met to get the feathers to glue properly I have to use right wing feathers. It works great now so Iam not going to change it but what is the right way?

That doesn't sound right to me. Did you call Martin?

RE: fletching

i have a martin fletcher as well, i was having problems with my fletching not making full contact on the shaft. i wrapped a rubber band around the cradle notch and adjusted the way that my shaft set in there. this made a world of difference for me. and my jig has a left clamp and i use left wing feathers.
