Fletching arrows
I am wondering if there is anything special I need to know about Fletching my Arrows! I have CX Heritage and was told to use 5 inch feathers! I would like to use a barred shield cut right wing helical! I was wondering if this is the way to go! Will the RW Helical be ok shooting off the shelf??? Low profile or ????

RE: Fletching arrows
I use 4" LW on my Heritage 150's(only because I have LW clamps).I use a feather burner to get the shield profile and the back height is 5/8".Arrows fly real good for me

RE: Fletching arrows
the important thing is that you match your clamp to your fletching, left wing, left clamp. if you want to make your own feathers, i use a little chopper and it works awsome.

RE: Fletching arrows
I shoot RW helical 5" shield cut feathers on CX 150's (off the shelf), and the work great for me. Just make sure you are matching your feathers to your clamp.

RE: Fletching arrows
Thanks guys. I fletch all my arrows for my Compound and its a RW Jig! I am just looking for the right "look" I want to go with! Do you guys ever use wraps???

RE: Fletching arrows
I use wraps on occassion.Gotta admit-they're convenient. Most of the time I put a dip cap and then crest.

RE: Fletching arrows
I use wraps for the aesthetics, better adhesion, and they make your arrows a lot easier to find if you miss, or pass through a target/animal.
