Howatt hunter project bow
Well the bow arrived and I have been sanding, and sanding, and sanding some more. Last night I ordered some poly urethane from 3Rivers for the finish. What I need now is ideas on how to apply the finish. I am thinking about suspending the bow by strong string via a string groove so that it hangs vertical. Any other ideas? The finish is spray applied.

RE: Howatt hunter project bow
Thanks Gimpy, I have finished with OOOO steel wool but have been told that the oils used to prevent rusting of the wool may effect the finish so I will pick up some super fine paper and give it a once over before applying the poly urethane. As for the Howatt this is my first one, I purchased it as a good deal. I really like the looks and feel of the bow and cannot wait to put it to use. Thanks for the advice.

That's exactly how I've done mine. Works just fine.
