Longbow Quiver
Am I gonna like shooting with this thing on?.....or....will I even notice it's there?

RE: Longbow Quiver
I dunno. What quiver have you got? I've got a Thunderhorn Boa that I actually kinda like, and I have been a longtime HATER of bow quivers.

RE: Longbow Quiver
I don't have one, yet. I'm thinking of a great northern?????
I'm also contemplating a tube style quiver that doesn't attach to the bow. |
RE: Longbow Quiver
I have a selway and hate it. I just can't get used to a quiver on my longbow. Your longbow is about as heavy as mine, which is fairly light. So the quiver with the wieght of the arrows really get the bow off balance IMO.
I have tried it seveal times and made up my mind to get a cat quiver or something. |
RE: Longbow Quiver
My delta quiver has been great for me! Its cheap, mine has valcro straps that attach it. Certain quivers only fit certain bows and this was one that fit mine.

RE: Longbow Quiver
I went with that little adapter gizmo that allows me to attach a bracket to it and any on/off "Quickee" type quiver. It rotates to whatever angle you want. Sometimes you have to keep adjusting the screw to hold it, but it works pretty well. I plan to use it the next time I go out west too as I hate shooting with a quiver on even my compound.

RE: Longbow Quiver
Same as BC for me--a bow quiver makes my longbow feel really awkward.

I'm thinking about one of those camo "tubes" that holds five.....and just carry that with me when I hunt with it. I don't want one on my bow, per se.

RE: Longbow Quiver
You mean the Simmons Rotary Quiver? That's one of the few styles I haven't tried yet, but want to. A good friend of mine has one and loves it. For the last few years I've used a cheap hip quiver from Wal-Mart for hunting--I can use if "GFA" style, or wear it the conventional way. I like to take it off when I get to my stand or blind. It's not perfect, but for me it works better than anything else I've tried.

Ive always used a back quiver. Im thinking of going with a belt quiver. Never had one on my bows

The one I have is called Sidewinder Rotory quiver. It's only the adaptor that is held on with your belt. Then you put the bracket of your regular qwikee or bohning or whatever type of quiver you want on the adapter, and viola! Hip quiver that rotates around to your liking, and comes on and off when you want. |
RE: Longbow Quiver
For where I hunt it get to thick for a hip quiver, So right now I have a selway slide on style on my longbow right now and it did change the feel of the bow and got in the way at first but with practice and use I got like it. The bow quiver is convient and handy for hunting. I have tried a few back quivers by martin and vista and neet but hated them. They just aren't made proper, too stiff not long enough things like that, I am thinking of ordering a quiver from http://www.mikesarcheryleather.com/the 4"hunter series to try out have heard good things. Sorry for rambling I guess what I am getting at everyone is different try different quivers and decide.

RE: Longbow Quiver
The way I usually wear my hip quiver works great in thick stuff (if is awful wearing it the regular way though). I just put the belt over my head and let the quiver ride under my arm, broadheads forward. With it like this, I can also put the quiver in front of me, behind me, or just let it hang at my side.
I haven't seen a Sidewinder--any links? Chad |
RE: Longbow Quiver
I shoot with a kwikee quiver on mine...no problems!

RE: Longbow Quiver
