weight tubes in carbon arrows

I am new to carbon arrows and want to try weight tubes. Do the weight tubes generally stiffen the spine enough that I need to go down a spine or should the difference be small enough that I won't notice. Any help is greatly appreciated.

from what i was told at a trad archery shop is the tubes just add weight to the whole shaft with out changing the spine, to change the spine of the arrow you can add weight to the front to weaken it or take weight away to make it stiffer.

Instead of weight tubes, a big thing now is to use brass inserts to increase weight, really crank up a high FOC and allow use of stiffer spine, heavier carbons. You can get brass inserts from 3Rivers.

Matt/PA showed me a great setup for changing wieght and spine from Gold Tip.

You can get wieghts for front and back. So if you want to add wieght only, add equal front and back weight, if you want to change spine, take away or add weight to front or back.

Go to gold tip and see thier setup.

I was going to look at wieght tubes, but they are expensive.

If you're looking for heavier carbons and don't mind changing, Griz Stiks have a little more weight. Haven't used them personally but they sound like the thing to use for heavy carbons. Can be found on 3riversarchery.com

Thank you for the information, yall are quick to help someone out. I think I am going to try some weight tubes and the heavier inserts. Unfortunatley with me being a Drill Sergeant and just picking up a new batch of trainees its going to be a few weeks before i can try them out. But when I do I will let you know how it turns out.
