Right here:

http://www.ranchosafari.com/

The fella who owns this company is a traditional archer from WAY back, Jerry Gentellalli, and is also the inventor of the Cat Quiver, amongst other things.

hey there , could you tell me what asat means.

is it similar to the shaggie longcoat that wooswalker is talking about .

Just today I found a nice spot with two shooting lanes & a great spot for the bow,but no cover & I'm tired of building ground blinds, & those tents make it look like a camp ground.

I got lower limb diz & after thesepost I think I should be looking into it.

Followed a big deer track in the soft snow this morningnot far from my mother's house, got to see what he was eating, follow them to a 20-30 foot gully full of tag alders , had to turn around but laterfound a great spot on that property.

ASAT is a camo pattern, like RealTree, or Predator.

IMO, it, like Predator, and unlike RealTree and most others, is designed to do what camo what originally intended to do....break up the hunter's outline against the background.

ASAT = All Season All Terrain

It's a designer camo pattern. I believe they do have a leafy version, but it's still a long way from being a ghillie suit. ;) http://www.asatcamo.com/

I just found out today, that the Rancho Safari Company, manufacturers of the Shaggie Longcoat Ghillie suit, and the line of Cat Quiver hunting backquivers, burned down last month during the California wildfires.

Word is, that they aren't sure if they will even attemp to rebuild.

That's pretty bad news for the world of hunting, as they made some very unique, and VERY effective hunting tools.

If you were ever thinking about getting a Cat Quiver, you'd be well off to shop around the web and get what you can NOW! Likewise for their Ghillie Suit.

Is this your first year bowhunting ? I mean, with trad gear ?

I've used a Catquiver for years- love them- and have heard great things about the ghilli suits as well.

You didn't wound the deer, thats a plus. You didn't miss a mongo buck - you just learned (relearned as it might be :) ) and you'll hunt again with more determination !

No, it's my third. I missed a doe last year. I hunted with a compound for 23 years, and then a few years ago I made the commitment to the recurve (which I'd been considering for MANY years......I'm 55, and I started out on a recurve).

What has made it even more challenging (MY choice), is that I have vowed that the next deer I kill with a bow, will be on the ground, and with a recurve. I've killed over 50 deer in my life, so if it takes me a few years to achieve my goal, that's fine with me!

That means I get to HUNT more, which is the whole idea anyway!
