for those of you who use.......
carbon arrows, have any of you had problems getting 5 inch feathers to fletch with a helical? It seems the carbons are to small for me to get the 5 inch feathers to glue completly on. I was thinking of 4 inch feathers. Does anyone on the forum use 4 inch feathers, and if so how are they doing stablizing your broadheads? Thanks in advance for taking the time to post a reply.

RE: for those of you who use.......
I use a bitzenburger jig and I put 5" fletch on my gold tipps without any problem. It just takes a little eyeballing untill you get the jig set up to fit.Not sure how other jigs would line up though. Sorry I am not more help.

RE: for those of you who use.......
I was once told by a "pro" (he had the certificates to prove it) that it was impossible to put a 5" helical feather on a carbon arrow. Being the novice at the time, I didn't know that so I showed him my Beemans with 5" helical feathers on them. Glad he told me it couldn't be done, otherwise I might have kept on.....lol.
It can be tricky, but it can be done. I used a Bitzenberger to do mine. Today I recieved my first BPE Pro fletcher, which looks to be much more adjustable than the Bitz. It will take a little tinkering, and a good fletching jig, but you can do it. I've shot 4" feathers, but did a 4-fletch when I did, so I am no help there--sorry. Chad Long Bows Rule! |

I have put 5.5" highback shields on goldtips. Took a little tweaking but is very do-able. I was using a piece of crap martin J8.
