Need to refinish a bow, what do I use??

Time for an education again. I have just purchased a used bow that is in need of refinishing. What can I use to remove the old finish that wont harm the lamination adhesive? Then what would you use for a new finish? Thanks for the help.

Send it out to Jeff Massie , when you get it back it will look like new. Reasonable price ,about $50

Sandpaper and elbow grease. I finish with Helmsmans Spar Eurathane. Forget the chemicals. Dick

Yep. Refinishing a bow is a labor of love thing. Just jump in with some free time and sandpaper and sand it down. At least you can save some of the markings that way. Stripper chemicals will wipe it all out. I like the Helmsman Spar Urethane from Minwax. Probably the same stuff Dick mentioned.

Or send it to Massie and have a pro do it. I've seen several bows he's done. Wow!
